Higher Level Skills

Thinking of studying a Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care with us?

You may be eligible for subsidised fees under the Higher Level Skills program.

The Higher Level Skills program is a Queensland Government initiative that aims to assist individuals to gain the higher level skills required to secure employment or career advancement in a priority industry, or to transition to university. This support is in the form of subsidised training fees.

Are you eligible?

To be able to access the Higher Level Skills program subsidy, you must meet the following criteria:

  • no longer at school
  • aged 15 years or older
  • permanently reside in Queensland
  • be an Australian or New Zealand citizen or Australian permanent resident (including humanitarian entrants), or a temporary resident with the necessary visa and on the pathway to permanent residency.
  • not hold or be enrolled in a Certificate IV or higher level qualification (not including qualifications completed at school and foundation skills training).

What courses are available?

A Higher Level Skills subsidy is available for the following Kath Dickson Institute course:

CHC50113 Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care

What will it cost you?

If you are eligible for the Higher Level Skills program subsidy and choose to study with us, the subsidy will be paid by the Department of Education and Training directly to the Kath Dickson Institute. You will be required to pay the gap between the full fee and and the subsidy.

Your co-contribution fee, payable to the Kath Dickson Institute, is as follows:

CHC50113 Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care (Higher Level Skills)

Total units: 28 units (23 Core units and 5 Elective units)
Full fee: $35.00 per unit
Concession fee: $14.00 per unit
